My preferred books are non-fiction, memoir, and I love HORROR. I have loved everything from sweet cozy books to true crime. I am not too picky, however I insist on excellent writing. I read a ton of local author titles and I read almost anything LGBTQIA+… This subject is very near and dear to me. Therefore I am always reading books about or written by queer authors.

I am what you would call a sophisticated reader. I enjoy reading books by millennial authors and I have recently just discovered that I like sci-fi if it is well-written. I am a writer myself, and I have a certificate in copyediting, so I too am looking for a well-edited piece of work.

I love to read poetry, especially Joy Harjo and Rupi Kaur. I like non-fiction, memoir, and I actively seek out books by BIPOC authors. This is something that is very important to me. On the flip side of this…I was looking for a new title to read that would be an excellent distraction and I stumbled on C.J. Box, and I proceeded to very quickly listen to every single one of his books. Who knew?

I am the sensitive reader on our team. I enjoy books that are not too dark, not too terribly sad or serious. I can often be found reading or listening to a children’s early reader or chapter book. I am perhaps the number one fan of Mac Barnett. I think his Kid Spy series is just phenomenal. Life is short; read a good book.
